The Law in Your State
Florida home education families file a notice of intent with their county school district superintendent, keep a portfolio of records (a log of educational activities made as they happen, the titles of reading materials used, and samples of the student’s writings, worksheets, workbooks, or creative materials), and file an annual evaluation each year.
One way to meet the annual evaluation requirement is a review by a teacher holding a valid regular Florida certificate, who evaluates the student’s educational progress after reviewing the portfolio and having a discussion with the student. That is the evaluation we provide.
